Bus Parcel

Bus Parcel is the standard parcel service offered by Matkahuolto. Fast and flexible, this unrivalled service is based on frequent bus connections, extensive route network, accurate timetables and first-rate custo MH_Jakorahtimer service.   
Freight can be paid by either the consignor or the consignee. and the goods can also be
sent COD. The price is based on the total weight of the consignment irrespective of distance.
 
Matkahuolto's Parcel Service makes use of a bar code system that lets you track and trace the delivery via the Internet. The consignee indicated on the address card will be notified
of the incoming consignment by an SMS message,
e-mail, or fax.
 

Cash on delivery

When COD (cash on delivery) is used with Bus Parcel, the consignee can claim the parcel by paying the amount indicated on the address card. Matkahuolto assumes responsibility for crediting the amount to the bank account entered on the address card.

The rates do not include a fuel surcharge. The prices do not include the address card or packaging materials.
The price is determined specifically to each consignment and includes freight between the Matkahuolto service outlets. A separate fee will be charged for delivery to a satellite terminal (Herttoniemi).
If the consignee pays for the freight and its destination is a Matkahuolto agency, an additional agent fee will be added to the freight according to the then-current price list.

THE MAXIMUM DIMENSIONS OF CONSIGNMENTS:
* Maximum package dimensions 80 x 80 x 80 cm
* Maximum weight of package 55 kg
* Maximum 15 packages per consignment
* Total volume of consignment 3 m 3
 
 SPECIAL HANDLING CHARGE
A special handling charge applies to the following consignments:
* Long items (length of 1.5–3 m)
* Large flat items (one side of parcel is more than 1 m long)
* Items to be handled with care
* Hazardous substances
* and other consignments requiring special handling
 
 LIGHTWEIGHT AND BULKY ITEMS
* The charge for lightweight items (specific weight less than 250 kg/m 3) is based on a standard specific weight of 1 m 3 = 250 kg.
* The charge for bicycles is based on the rate charged for 30 kg items.
