Why does the timetable search show "No bus service for the search words given”, when
I know that there is a bus running at that time or place?
The reply can be generated for several reasons:
I did a search for a bus connection from Hamina's bus station to Lahti’s bus station,
but the timetable search found no bus station in Hamina.
The timetable search requires that all proper names be written in their singular form, with
no case endings: i.e. just Hamina or Hamina bus station.
I couldn’t find the traffic timetables for the Helsinki metropolitan region. Did I
make some kind of mistake?
Regional traffic serving the capital city region is administrated by a separate organization.
Information on the routes is therefore not included in the Matkahuolto database. Timetables for
local transport service in the Helsinki area can be found at the Helsinki Region Transport
HSL website.
Why can’t I find the Friday night bus that leaves at 2:15 a.m.?
The timetable search works on the basis of the day of departure. Each day begins at 00:00 and
ends at 23:59. Friday night departures after 00.00 are then found under Saturday's date.
I plan to travel by coach from Turku to the Helsinki Airport. The journey has a bus
transfer in Espoo at the Ikea stop, but the timetable shows that there is a 0 minute transfer time.
Can I be sure that the transfer bus to the airport will wait for me?
Transfers listed in the timetable search have all been confirmed. It may be a good idea,
however, to let the driver of the first bus know about your upcoming transfer, so he or she can
inform the transfer bus driver that there is a transfer passenger coming if there is a delay.
Why can’t I use the feedback form to make timetable enquiries?
Timetables can be found via our website timetable search and mobile phone users can also
access timetables at m.Matkahuolto.fi. Timetable information can also be found at any Matkahuolto
service outlet or by phone from the Matkahuolto
Customer Service
Centre.
What do the abbreviations like th, las and ras in the timetables stand for?
as = asema (station)
kk = kirkonkylä (parish village)
kko = kirkko (church)
las = linja-autoasema (bus station)
ras = rautatieasema (train station)
th = tienhaara (roadside stop, often at a crossroads leading to a village or city along a
main route )
