City Tickets
City Tickets can be loaded onto a Matkahuolto Travel Card for convenient travel use. The City
Ticket is an affordable seasonal or multi-trip ticket that can be used for travel in areas defined
by the city in question.
The features of the City Ticket vary from city to city.
Because City Tickets are partially subsidized by and specific to the city, customers may be
required to show proof that they are residents of the said city in order to be eligible for
purchase. The City Ticket is for personal use only. For this reason, customers will be required to
show proof of identity, i.e., a passport, police-issued ID card or driving license at ticket
purchase.

Sales locations
City Tickets can be purchased at the Matkahuolto service outlet or Matkahuolto certified agent selling Matkahuolto Travel Cards in the city in question. More value can be added to the City Ticket on the Travel Card at R-kiosks and onboard the buses.
Refund terms and conditions
The refund terms and conditions for City Tickets vary from city to city. Each city’s refund terms and conditions are explained on the sales receipt that customer sign during the ticket sales transaction. All City Tickets are eligible for refunds in case of the following events:
- During a labour strike that prohibits ticket use.
- In the event of an update to the ticket or Travel Card that makes it impossible to use the City Ticket or Travel Card for the remainder of the purchased travel time.
- If your City Ticket is lost or stolen, an investigation can be made at customer request. The
customer must show proof of identity upon submitting an investigation request. Investigation of a
lost or stolen City Ticket is subject to a service charge to be paid by the customer when
submitting the investigation request form. Any valid City Ticket travel time left unused on the
Matkahuolto Travel Card will be duly refunded to the customer.
