International parcel services for contract customers

Through Matkahuolto, you can also send parcels quickly and affordably to Sweden, Denmark, the Baltics and Central Europe. PostNord is our partner in the Nordic countries and Central Europe, and Estonian Post is our partner in the Baltics.

The effects of the corona virus on parcel deliveries abroad

We largely also deliver packages to home doors and pick-up points abroad. Delays may occur in some places in European export deliveries as a result of country- and region-specific interest rate restrictions. Due to country-specific restrictions, we are currently unable to ship to pick-up points in Germany, Netherlands and France. We recommend switching from pick-up point deliveries to home deliveries for Germany, the Netherlands and France.



If the pick-up point shipment has already been delivered to those countries, we recommend that you instruct the recipient to pick up the shipment as soon as possible.

Consignments delivered to companies that cannot be delivered due to the closure of the company's corona virus epidemic will be automatically returned to the sender after the first delivery attempt.

Deliveries to pick-up points

Parcels are delivered to the nearest pick-up point chosen by the sender or determined by the recipient’s address. The delivery time is 2-5 days. Since Matkahuolto will send a text message when the parcel can be picked up, you need to provide the recipient’s mobile phone number. The phone number must be provided in the correct format together with the country code and any prefix, e.g. +46 123 456 789.

Our network in the Baltic's includes a total of almost 800 pick-up points, of them 300 are parcel lockers located in Estonia.

Parcels are held at the pick-up point for 15 days and in the parcel lockers for 7 days, after which any uncollected parcels will be returned to the sender at their expense. No free-of-charge customer returns.

A consignment can consist of one package, the maximum weight being 20 kg. The maximum length is 150 cm, length + circumference 300 cm and minimum dimensions 14 x 9 x 15 cm.

Cash-on-Delivery is not available for this service. Parcels may not contain any fragile items, dangerous goods, live animals, firearms or parts of firearms, perishable products or any content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage.

Delivery to recipient’s doorstep

The parcel will be distributed to the recipient; the delivery period is agreed with the recipient by text message in advance, which is why you need to provide the recipient’s mobile phone number. The phone number must be provided in the correct format together with the country code and any prefix, e.g. +46 123 456 789.

If the recipient cannot be reached, an arrival notification will be left for them to pick up the consignment at a service point in the destination country. Customer returns are not accepted. The service includes up to two delivery attempts (excluding Estonia where only one attempt is made). Parcels are held at the terminal for 7 days, after which the consignment will be returned to the sender subject to an additional charge.

A consignment can consist of 1 package, the maximum weight being 20 kg and minimum weight 0.150 kg. The maximum length is 100 cm, length + circumference 250 cm (300 cm in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) and minimum dimensions 14 x 9 x 15 cm.

Daytime deliveries to business addresses

Delivery arrangements vary from one country to another. The service includes at least one delivery attempt. Delivery time is not agreed in advance with the recipient. If the recipient cannot be reached, an arrival notification will be left for them to pick up the consignment at a service point in the destination country. Consignments are not distributed to PO Box or Poste Restante addresses. No consignment returns, uncollected consignments will be handled on a case by case basis.

A consignment can consist of 5 packages, the maximum weight of each package being 35 kg and the maximum weight of the entire consignment 175 kg. The maximum length is 150 cm, length + circumference 300 cm and minimum dimensions 14 x 9 x 15 cm.

Cash-on-Delivery is not available for this service. Parcels may not contain any fragile items, dangerous goods, live animals, firearms or parts of firearms, perishable products or any content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage.

Express deliveries to international destinations

An International Air Document can only contain documents. Maximum weight 5 kg.

International Air Parcels are taken to the recipient’s address. At its shortest, the delivery time to a destination in Europe is just one workday. For other destinations, delivery takes 2-8 workdays depending on the country of destination.

The maximum dimensions of a parcel are 60 x 60 x 120 cm and maximum weight 30 kg. You cannot send larger/heavier consignments than that through Matkahuolto.

The phone number must be provided in the correct format together with the country code and any prefix. Cash-on-Delivery is not available for this service. Parcels may not contain any dangerous goods, LQ and EQ dispatches, live animals, firearms or parts of firearms, perishable products or any content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage.

If applicable, DHL will handle customs clearance in the destination country. The consignee shall pay the customs duties and regulatory charges as well as taxes for the consignment. If the consignment cannot be delivered to the consignee, any unpaid customs duties and regulatory charges will be charged to the consignor. If the consignment is destined for Russia (St Petersburg or Moscow), check first with Matkahuolto whether the item involved may be sent to Russia.

You can also send consignments to private customers in the following countries, but due to various content restrictions, you should first contact DHL Customer Service to check that delivery is possible. The countries are Afghanistan, Burundi, South Sudan, Iran, Yemen, Cuba, Libya, Mali, Niger, Syria. DHL Customer Service phone no. 0304 5346 (€0.835 per call + €0.084 per min), Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 17.00.

You can also take outgoing consignments directly to our logistics terminals. Consignments left at our terminals within their opening hours will be delivered the same evening! This means many more useful hours to collect e-commerce orders and deliver parcels quickly to recipients.
