Validity of the ticket
The period of validity of the City Ticket varies from city to city.
The refund terms for City Tickets vary from city to city. The refund terms for the City Ticket are explained on the sales receipt singed by the customer at the time of purchase.
All City Tickets are eligible for a refund in the following cases:
In the event of a strike during which the ticket cannot be used.
In the event of an update to the ticket or expiry of the service life of the card making it impossible to use the ticket or Travel Card for the remainder of the purchased travel time.
In the event that the City Ticket is lost or stolen, an investigation into the card transactions can be carried out at the customer’s request. Proof of identity must be presented when the request for an investigation is made. Investigation of a lost or stolen City Ticket is subject to a service charge to be paid by the customer when submitting the investigation request form. Any valid City Ticket travel time left unused on the Matkahuolto Travel Card will be refunded to the customer.
Because City Tickets are partially subsidised by and specific to the city, customers may be required to show proof that they are residents of the said city in order to be eligible for purchase.
Right of travel
The City Ticket is for personal use only. For this reason, customers will be required to show proof of identity, i.e., a passport, police-issued ID card or driving license when purchasing the ticket.
