Where to top up the ticket
Most Commuter Tickets can be topped up at R Kiosks and onboard buses. Ticket can be topped up with Bussiliput mobile app with Android phone, which has NFC-functionality.
The refund policy for Commuter Tickets varies from ticket to ticket. The refund terms are indicated on the sales receipt signed by the customer at the time of purchase. All Commuter Tickets are eligible for refunds in the following cases:
In the event of a strike during which the ticket cannot be used.
In the event of an update to the ticket or expiry of the service life of the card making it impossible to use the ticket or Travel Card for the remainder of the purchased travel time.
If the Commuter Ticket is lost or stolen, the transactions related to the Commuter Ticket can be investigated at the customer’s request. Proof of identity must be presented along with the latest top-up receipt when the request for an investigation is made. Investigation of a lost or stolen Commuter Ticket is subject to a service charge to be paid by the customer when submitting the investigation request form. Any valid Commuter Ticket travel time left unused on the Travel Card will be refunded to the customer.
Proof of a permanent address or registration in the city in the region may be required for eligibility for ticket purchase.
Right of travel
The Commuter Ticket is for personal use only. For this reason, customers will be required to show proof of identity, i.e., a passport, police-issued ID card or driving license, when buying the ticket.
