*Again, it’s just around the corner. The time of year when we celebrate Christmas in different ways. For some, the Christmas spirit is all about skiing and glittering snow, for others it’s about gathering around the Christmas table with the whole family, not to forget those who enjoy a good book and woolly socks in the corner of a sofa. No one way is better than the other, because the most important thing again this year is Christmas joy. *

Last dates for sending Christmas parcels

When you send parcels no later than the following days in accordance with the parcel drop-off times at the service points, we will deliver them to service points for pick-up or the addressee’s door by Christmas Eve. Use the service point search to find your nearest service point and latest time for leaving parcels.

Parcel traffic is now at its peak, so pick up your incoming parcel as soon as possible!

Most of our nearly 2,300 service points, such as parcel lockers, K-markets and R Kiosks, are open seven days a week throughout the year, including Christmas. Use the service point search to find your nearest service point.

Tickets for Christmas holidays

The Christmas and New Year holidays are one of the busiest travel periods of the year. Please note that there are some exceptions in the bus timetables during public holidays. It is therefore advisable to check the timetables and purchase tickets in advance from the Routes and Tickets app or Matkahuolto’s website

Frequently asked questions at Christmas

Our priority is always to deliver your parcel to the parcel locker or service point of your choice. Parcel traffic is now at its busiest and many service points handle parcels from several carriers. The most popular parcel lockers and service points may become congested, forcing us to take your parcel to another service point. The new location is always pre-planned and chosen so that the parcel is ready for collection quickly and as close to the recipient as possible.

We always try to choose a pick-up point that is able to handle the growing number of parcels and that is located close to the original point requested by the customer. Whenever possible, we try to take into account natural customer routes and, of course, the opening hours of the new location. However, just before Christmas, individual parcel lockers and service points as well as some areas may become so congested due to high parcel volumes that occasionally, unfortunately, we have to be compromise on some of these criteria in order to deliver your parcel quickly and reliably.

We recommend that you pick up your parcel at the service point from which you receive your arrival notification. The situation at the service points changes all the time, which is why we cannot guarantee that we will be able to forward your parcel to another location for collection.

If you can’t pick up your parcel, you can purchase home delivery for it in the Paketit app and we will deliver it to your door at a time of your choosing.

Another person can easily pick up a parcel for you also at a service point by giving the pick-up code mentioned in the arrival notification. If you don’t have a pick-up code, another person can also pick up your parcel by presenting the consignment ID and the person’s own ID.

Service outlets are currently receiving vast amounts of parcels from several different courier companies. These service outlets may experience temporary congestion, resulting in a longer-than-usual wait before the parcel is ready for collection.

We always notify immediately through arrival notifications, the app, and parcel tracking when the parcel is available for pickup. Please wait patiently.
