Student: Get your subsidised school ticket in time!

School transport subsidised tickets are for upper secondary students who have been granted Kela’s school transport subsidy. If you use Matkahuolto’s season or series ticket, you can easily buy the ticket in the Matkat app.

Please note:

• Apply for the subsidy first in OmaKela and make sure your purchase authorisation is granted.

• You can buy the ticket up to 14 days before school begins

• Buying in the app requires strong authentication with online banking credentials or a mobile certificate.

• If purchasing before school starts, choose the first school day as the start date.

How to buy your ticket in the Matkat app:

1. Download or open the Matkat app.

2. Register and activate your account via email instructions.

3. Go to My information → Authenticate for subsidised school ticket

4. Authenticate following the instructions.

5. Buy the ticket once everything is verified.
