Matkahuolto needs a range of data classified as personal data in the General Data Protection Regulation to be able to provide travel and parcel services for its customers and provide the best possible service. Depending on the situation at hand, the collection of data is based on compliance with statutory requirements, a contract, consent and/or legitimate interest.

In processing personal data, Matkahuolto complies with the following principles of data protection: compliance with law, reasonableness and transparency, relevance, minimisation of the volume of data, accuracy, limited period of retention, integrity and confidentiality of the data and the controller’s obligation to demonstrate. Additionally, Matkahuolto is responsible for ensuring that its subcontractors process personal data in the same way as Matkahuolto.
