Matkahuolto achieved Gold level in the EcoVadis assessment – strategic sustainability target reached ahead of schedule

In 2025, we achieved a significant sustainability recognition by reaching the Gold level in the EcoVadis assessment. EcoVadis is one of the world’s most recognized sustainability rating platforms, and its evaluation is based on four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis has assessed the sustainability work of more than 150,000 companies worldwide.

In our first EcoVadis assessment in 2024, we were awarded Bronze level and set ourselves the target of reaching Gold level by the end of the strategy period in 2027. We achieved this goal ahead of schedule and at the same time ranked in the top 5% of companies in our industry globally.

Strategically consistent sustainability work key to achieving Gold level

We have developed our sustainability work in a strategically consistent way, aligned with our sustainability targets. Our good result was supported by the lessons learned from our first sustainability reporting in accordance with the CSRD. In particular, two indicators – reporting and policies – improved significantly between the assessments.

Our sustainability indicators now generally rank at good, advanced, or excellent level, showing strong performance across all areas of the evaluation. Our goal is to maintain Gold level in the coming years and ensure impactful and credible sustainability work going forward.
