VAT on passenger transport to increase on January 1, 2025

The value-added tax (VAT) on passenger transport will increase from 10% to 14% as of January 1, 2024. The impact of this change on customer prices will vary depending on the type of ticket.
Matkahuolto sells tickets for bus companies and subsidized transport at the prices specified by the respective traffic organizers. These prices are displayed on our website and in the Trips and Tickets app.
The prices of Matkahuolto’s nationwide season and serial tickets will increase by the amount of the VAT increase at the beginning of January.
