Online store policy for sending parcels
Matkahuolto’s online store operates in compliance with Finnish law, the terms and conditions for online purchase of delivery and transport services and Matkahuolto’s General Conditions of Carriage.
The prices displayed apply to parcel services purchased online. The prices of parcel services purchased at a Matkahuolto outlet or Markahuolto agent may differ from those in the online store.
When you pay for parcel delivery, you get an activation code which you must take to the service outlet: a Matkahuolto terminal, a Matkahuolto agent, a Matkahuolto service outlet or a parcel locker. The activation code is necessary for directing the parcel to the correct recipient at the correct address.
The activation code for a separately purchased parcel is valid for 14 days from the date of purchase, and you must ship the parcel during that time. The activation codes for a Multi-Parcel are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
Sender and recipient details and the accuracy of information
To purchase a parcel delivery service, you need to enter the name, telephone number and e-mail address of the sender and the recipient. This information is necessary for delivering the parcel in accordance with Matkahuolto’s General Conditions of Carriage and the Road Transport Agreements Act. The mobile phone number and e-mail address are used for sending the order confirmation to the buyer and the notice of arrival to the recipient.
Matkahuolto may use the information collected in this manner for purposes described in its privacy statement, such as developing its monitoring and statistics system related to the electronic services (such as online and mobile services), marketing and for facilitating online transactions. As the buyer of the parcel delivery service, you are responsible for the accuracy of the contact details. Matkahuolto accepts no liability for any failure to deliver a parcel or send an order confirmation or notice of arrival if this is due to incorrect contact details.
Changing and cancelling a parcel delivery service purchased online
According to the regulations on distance sales in the Consumer Protection Act, a consumer customer has the right to return an order made online within 14 days by notifying Matkahuolto of this. The fee is not returned if the parcel has already been sent. You cannot make changes to a Multi-Parcel delivery purchased online. An unused or partially used Multi-Parcel will not be refunded.
If the dimensions of your parcel exceed the size of the purchased delivery service, Matkahuolto may stop the delivery and require you to purchase a service that matches the size of the parcel.
