Varusteleka is an army and outdoor store based in Finland. They have a walk-in store in Helsinki and serve online customers worldwide. Established in 2003, today Varusteleka is the biggest army surplus store in Europe. It has a staff of 60 professionals and its 2020 revenue reached EUR 18.117 million.

Varusteleka’s range of products includes thousands of items. The company is known for the accuracy and originality of its product descriptions. Varusteleka’s mission is not only to rate the products made by others but to improve – even conquer – the world. As a result, they have created their own brands: Särmä, Särmä TST, Terävä and Jämä.
Varusteleka looks after its customers even after a purchase. They take pride in their skills and experience: you’d be hard put to find a better military surplus store.

“Cooperation with Matkahuolto started in January 2020 and has been working extremely well. Matkahuolto operates an extensive transport network that offers flexibility, for example when it comes to the transport of ADR products,” says Supply Chain Director Elina Häme of Varusteleka.

Varusteleka seeks to minimise its carbon footprint

Sustainability is of great importance to Varusteleka. Having recognised that we are destroying the planet, they are taking determined steps to reduce their carbon footprint. In order to reduce environmental damage and irresponsibility, Varusteleka has set three strategic goals for its activities:

  • Reducing the environmental impact of Varusteleka’s activities
  • Promoting the circular economy
  • Reducing and compensating for the production-related carbon footprint of its in-house products
