Our straightforward delivery methods

Deliveries to pick-up points

Pick-up Parcels are delivered to your customer’s chosen pick-up point, of which there are more than 2,300 across the country. In addition to our popular indoor and outdoor parcel lockers, your customers can also use the service points in K-Markets and R Kiosks, as well as Matkahuolto’s own service points and logistics terminals. We also offer your customers flexible extra services, such as extended storage time and home delivery.

Pick-up Parcel features

  • Maximum parcel weight 30 kg.

  • Maximum parcel volume 0.5 m3.

  • Longest side of parcel max. 200 cm and combined length (width + depth + height) max. 300 cm.

  • Extra charge for parcels with dimensions exceeding 60 cm x 60 cm x 100 cm.

  • When sending to a parcel locker, the maximum dimensions are 70 cm x 57 cm x 40 cm.

  • A single consignment can contain up to 5 parcels; an extra charge is levied for additional parcels.

  • Multi-parcel consignments cannot be sent to a parcel locker.

  • Pick-up Parcels are delivered to the parcel pick-up point nearest to the recipient’s address or chosen by the sender within 1–3 business days – also on Saturdays in the Helsinki region, Tampere, Turku and Oulu.

  • The recipient will be immediately notified, by text message or email, when the parcel is ready for pick-up.

  • 7-day storage time.

  • Extra services: LQ, Extended Storage Time, Large.

  • Parcels may not contain any dangerous goods (excluding LQ which is permitted), live animals, firearms, unpacked car tyres, perishable products or any content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage.

The XXS Parcel is the most cost-effective delivery method for small parcels less than 3 cm thick. Works in the same way as the Pick-up Parcel.

XXS Parcel features

  • Maximum weight 30 kg.

  • Maximum size 3 cm x 25 cm x 40 cm.

  • Several parcels cannot be included in the same consignment.

  • XXS Parcels are delivered to the parcel pick-up point nearest to the recipient’s address
    or chosen by the sender within 1–3 business days – also on Saturdays
    in the Helsinki region, Tampere, Turku and Oulu.

  • The recipient will be immediately notified, by text message or email, when the parcel is ready for pick-up.

  • 7-day storage time.

  • Recipient’s phone number or email required, no notification by letter.

  • No extra services.

  • Parcels may not contain any live animals, firearms, perishable products or any content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage.

Deliveries directly to the recipient

Home Parcel is a good choice when sending large and heavy parcels. The delivery time is agreed with the recipient, and deliveries can also be made during evenings and weekends in major cities. The service adjusts to the needs of the recipient and parcels can also be left at the doorstep without acknowledgement with the recipient’s permission.

The recipient is informed of an incoming parcel by a text message in order to agree on the delivery time. As a rule, delivery will take place on the next business day following the date on which the delivery time is agreed.

Home Parcel features

  • Maximum parcel weight 35 kg.

  • Extra charge for parcels over 30 kg.

  • Longest side of parcel max. 240 cm and combined length (width + depth + height) max. 360 cm..

  • Extra charge for parcels with dimensions exceeding 60 cm x 60 cm x 100 cm

  • A single consignment can contain up to 10 parcels; an extra charge is levied for additional parcels.

  • The delivery time is agreed with the recipient 1–3 business days after dispatch. Evening and weekend deliveries are available in major cities. Saturday deliveries in the Helsinki region, Tampere, Turku and Oulu, among others. Evening deliveries in the above regions and in Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Kouvola, Kuopio, Lahti and Pori.

  • The recipient also has the option to accept the parcel without signing for it, and give a door code for ensuring successful delivery.

  • Matkahuolto drivers will call the recipient if access to the delivery address is prevented.

  • 7-day storage time.

  • Extra services: Handle with Care, Dangerous Goods, LQ, Call to Recipient, Handing over personally, Extended Storage Time, Large.

    • With LQ extra service maximum parcel weight 30 kg.

  • The parcel may not contain any live animals, perishable products or any content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage.

With XXS Mailbox Delivery, your customers can conveniently receive small parcels directly to their home anywhere in the country. Small parcels are delivered to the mailbox within 2–4 days of dispatch. XXS Mailbox Delivery includes shipment tracking, which means that you can track your parcel in the same way as other parcels.

XXS Mailbox Delivery features

  • Maximum weight 1 kg.

  • Maximum size 3 cm x 25 cm x 40 cm.

  • Several parcels cannot be included in the same consignment.

  • XXS parcels are delivered to the recipient’s mailbox within 2–4 business days.

  • Recipient’s address required.

  • If the delivery fails, the consignment will be returned to the Matkahuolto pick-up point for collection. The recipient will be notified by text message or email when the parcel is available for pick up.

  • No extra services.

  • Parcels may not contain any live animals, firearms, perishable products or any content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage.

Pallet Freight is a good choice if you are sending your customer a large consignment that weighs more than 35 kg and/or is higher than 240 cm. The consignment is picked up from the sender and delivered directly to the recipient’s address, usually on the business day following the date of the order.

Orders placed before 12.30 will generally be picked up by 16.00 on the same day, while orders placed after 12.30 will be picked up on the next business day. In more remote regions, pick-ups and deliveries are only made on pre-defined days.

The recipient is not informed separately about the delivery. The consignment is unloaded in the immediate vicinity of the transport vehicle by means of a tailgate lifter and a pump trolley, or by the consignee using their unloading equipment. A crane is also available as an extra service.

Pallet Freight features

  • The consignment may not weigh more than 3,000 kg.

  • The maximum weight of a single parcel in the consignment may not exceed 1,200 kg.

  • The total volume of the consignment cannot exceed 9 m3.

  • There is no limit to the maximum number of parcels in a consignment.

  • The consignment is usually delivered to the address indicated on the shipping document within the next business day following the order.

  • As an extra service, the sender can purchase an advance notification by text message or phone call.

  • If the shipment cannot be delivered, it will be taken to the terminal to schedule a new delivery time with the recipient. The sender will be charged an additional fee for redelivery and storage of the consignment.

  • The freight service may not be used for sending live animals, perishable products, dangerous goods or other content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage.

Daytime deliveries to business addresses

The Business Parcel is particularly suitable for parcels delivered to business addresses. Business Parcels are delivered to the recipient on business days between 8.00 and 16.00 without separate agreement on a delivery time.

  • Maximum parcel weight 35 kg; heavier parcels carried as pallet freight.

  • Extra charge for parcels over 30 kg.

  • Longest side of parcel max. 240 cm and combined length (width + depth + height) max. 360 cm.

  • Extra charge for parcels with dimensions exceeding 60 cm x 60 cm x 100 cm.

  • A single consignment can contain up to 10 parcels; an extra charge is levied for additional parcels.

  • The parcel is delivered to the recipient’s address within 1–3 business days of dispatch.

  • If the delivery fails, the parcel will be taken to a service point near the delivery address for pick up. The recipient will be notified by text message or email when the parcel is available for pick up.

  • 7-day storage time.

  • Extra services: Handle with Care, Dangerous Goods, LQ, Delivery without Acknowledgment, Handing over personally, Extended Storage Time, Large.

  • The parcel may not contain any live animals, perishable products or any content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage.

Express deliveries

Our new Express Parcel is taken by bus from one place to another within the same day. The service is available 24 hours a day, anywhere in Finland.

Express Parcel features

  • Maximum parcel weight 20 kg.

  • Maximum parcel dimensions 60 cm x 60 cm x 150 cm.   

  • Up to 5 parcels per consignment. 

  • Express Parcels are purchased from the Paketit Business Portal for a specific bus service. 

  • Express Parcels are handed to the driver, and the recipient picks up the parcel directly from the driver on the bus. 

  • The recipient is informed of the arrival of the parcel and the time of arrival by a notification in the Paketit app or by a text message when the parcel has been placed on board the bus. The recipient can pick up the parcel using a pick-up code. 

  • It is essential that the recipient is there to meet the bus. If the parcel cannot be delivered, the Express Parcel is taken to a service point near the recipient within 2–3 business days for collection.

  • 7-day storage time. 

Other deliveries

Our services allow you to offer your customers hassle-free returns, and it is up to you to decide whether a consumer can make a return without contacting your customer service.

Customer Return features

Pre-printed address label

  • Provide your shipment receiver with a pre-printed address label.

  • A parcel your customer wishes to return can be left at any Matkahuolto service point or parcel locker.

  • The easiest option to return an item.

  • If necessary, you can accept returns at several addresses.

Return code

  • Provide your customers with your company’s return code to make a return at
    any Matkahuolto service point except for parcel lockers.

  • Returns can be made by all your customers who know the return code.

  • The returns will be routed to a single address agreed with you.

Services to registered customers

  • You can specify the time frame for creating a return shipment. A return code is also available in the service, if provided.

  • The returner will receive an activation code and can leave the consignment at any Matkahuolto outlet.
