Matkahuolto is a domestic, reliable and safe partner for your company’s parcel deliveries. With almost 90 years of experience, we transport parcels of all sizes to all destinations in Finland and also offer parcel services to destinations abroad. Surveys show that the sending companies are satisfied with us, and consumers regard Matkahuolto as the most positive parcel brand.
Our network is growing rapidly – by 2022, there will be as many as 1000 parcel lockers. To some pick-up points, we deliver parcels on Saturdays and, during peak seasons, Sundays. Near Parcel

Benefits

Your customers are served by nearly 2000 parcel pick-up points located in key locations for customers. 83% of Finns live within 3 km and 58% within 1 km of our pick-up points, the most popular of which are parcel lockers. Using a parcel locker is easy – your customers do not need to queue and the lockers are also open in the evenings and on weekends.

Matkahuolto has the largest number of pick-up points offering personal service in Finland. Our pick-up points include K-Markets, R-Kiosks and Matkahuolto’s own pick-up points and terminals. Our pick-up points are also available in the evenings and on weekends, following the opening hours of K-Markets and R-Kiosks. Our network of service outlets

We can offer flexible delivery for recipients with extra services such as extension of storage and home delivery.

  • Maximum parcel weight 35 kg

    • For parcels addressed to Kesko and R-kioski pick-up points,
      the maximum weight is 30 kg and maximum volume 0.5 m3

  • Longest side 230 cm and combined length (width + depth + height) 300 cm

    • extra charge for parcels with dimensions exceeding 60 cm x 60 cm x 120 cm

    • when sending to a parcel locker, the maximum dimensions are 70 cm x 57 cm x 40 cm

    • parcels whose longest side exceeds 200 cm can only be sent to Matkahuolto (see network of service outlets)

  • A single consignment can contain up to 5 parcels, an extra charge is levied for additional parcels

    • Multiparcel shipments can not be sent to parcel locker terminals

  • Near Parcels are delivered to the parcel pick-up point nearest to the recipient’s address or chosen by the sender within 1-3 business days – also delivered on Saturdays in the Helsinki region, Tampere, Turku and Oulu.

  • The recipient will be immediately notified, through a text or email message, when the parcel is ready for pick-up

  • 7-day storage period

  • Parcels may not contain any dangerous goods (excluding LQ which is permitted), live animals, firearms, car tires, perishable products or any content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage

XXS Parcel

Benefits

The most cost-effective delivery method for compact consignments less than 3 cm thick. Similar to Near Parcel.

  • Maximum weight 30 kg

  • Maximum size 3 cm x 25 cm x 40 cm

  • Several parcels cannot be included in the same consignment.

  • XXS Parcels are delivered to the parcel pick-up point nearest to the recipient’s address or chosen by the sender within 1-3 business days – also delivered on Saturdays in the Helsinki region, Tampere, Turku and Oulu.

  • The recipient will be immediately notified, through a text or email message, when the parcel is ready for pick-up.

  • 7-day storage period

  • Recipient’s phone number or email required, no notification by letter

  • No extra services

  • Parcels may not contain any live animals, firearms, perishable products or any content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage.

Bus Parcel

Benefits

Fast and easy way to send goods from one locality to another.

  • Maximum parcel weight 35 kg, heavier parcels carried as pallet freight

  • longest side 230 cm and combined length (width + depth + height) 300 cm

    • extra charge for parcels with dimensions exceeding 60 cm x 60 cm x 120 cm

  • Up to 5 parcels per consignment, additional parcels for an extra charge

  • As a rule, Bus Parcels are delivered within 24 hours during the work week, within 3 days at the latest.

  • The recipient will be immediately notified, through a text or email message, when the parcel is ready for pick-up.

  • 7-day storage period

  • Extra services available for the parcel include Pick-up & Delivery, Cash-on-Delivery, Handle with Care, Dangerous Goods, and Consignment to Be Collected in Person (by addressee only).

  • The parcel may not contain any live animals, perishable products or any content in contravention of the General Conditions of Carriage

Express Parcel

Benefits

Express Parcel is a super-fast scheduled service ensuring delivery within a few hours. Deliveries are scheduled on dispatch and the consignor is informed of the exact date and time when the parcel reaches its destination. The recipient can also pick up the parcel directly from the bus at a bus stop or the bus station if so separately agreed.

  • Maximum parcel weight 35 kg

    • extra charge for parcels with dimensions exceeding 60 cm x 60 cm x 120 cm

  • Up to 5 parcels per consignment

  • Parcels are delivered using the first possible connection depending on the point of departure and destination, optimally in a couple of hours.

  • 7-day storage period

  • If necessary, you can order special delivery right to the customer’s doorstep as an extra service.

  • Extra services available for the parcel include pick-up & delivery, handle with care, and dangerous goods

  • cash-on-delivery is not available for this service.

  • The parcel may not contain any live animals or any content in contravention of the general conditions of carriage.

Home Delivery

Benefits


This service is an excellent option when, for example, the parcel is big and heavy, or the recipient cannot come and pick it up for some other reason. The delivery period is agreed with the recipient; delivery is also possible in the evening and on weekends. The service is flexible to meet the recipient’s needs; parcels may even be left at the customer’s doorstep without being signed for. Safe delivery without physical contact.

The recipient is informed of an incoming parcel by a text message in order to agree on the delivery time. The parcel is usually delivered to the recipient on the working day following the delivery time agreement, also in the evenings and on weekends in major cities. With the recipient’s permission, parcels can also be left at the delivery address without being signed for.

  • Parcels are delivered within 1-3 business days throughout the country, with evening and weekend deliveries in major cities. Saturday deliveries e.g. in the Helsinki region, Tampere, Turku and Oulu. Evening deliveries in the above regions and in Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Kouvola, Kuopio, Lahti and Pori.

  • The recipient also has the option to accept the parcel without signing for it, and give a door code for ensuring successful delivery.

  • Matkahuolto drivers will call the recipient if access to the delivery address is prevented.

  • Extra services available for the parcel include pick-up, handle with care, and dangerous goods

  • The parcel may not contain any live animals, perishable products or any content in contravention of the general conditions of carriage.

Delivery Parcel

Benefits

Especially suitable for deliveries to companies. Delivered to receivers Monday-Friday between 8-16 without prior agreement on delivery time.

  • Maximum parcel weight 35 kg, heavier parcels carried as pallet freight

  • longest side 230 cm and combined length (width + depth + height) 300 cm

    • extra charge for parcels with dimensions exceeding 60 cm x 60 cm x 120 cm

  • A single consignment can contain up to 5 parcels, an extra charge is levied for additional parcels

  • During the work week, parcels are normally transported to the destination within 24 hours during the work week and delivered to the consignee on the following business day.

  • 7-day storage period

  • Extra services available for the parcel include pick-up, handle with care, and dangerous goods

  • The parcel may not contain any live animals, perishable products or any content in contravention of the general conditions of carriage.

  • In case the shipment can not be delivered to the recipient, it will be taken to the service point near the delivery address. The recipient will be notified by text message or email when the parcel is available for pick up.

Bringing consignments to Matkahuolto and using the pick-up service

You can bring your consignment to Matkahuolto service points or agree
on pick-up, in which case we will collect the consignment directly from your warehouse
as agreed.

The content of the pick-up and delivery service is agreed on a customer-by-customer basis; you will be charged a monthly price or for each pick-up separately. Pick-ups are made in a separately agreed time window and the service covers the agreed volume.

Consignments can be left at Matkahuolto Logistics Centres and at almost all parcel pick-up points. You can leave as many parcels as you can fit in a parcel locker box.

At Kesko parcel pick-up points, the limit is 30 kg or 5 parcels with a volume of 0.5 m3.

Customer return

With our solutions, you can offer easy returns and decide for yourself
whether the consumer will be able to make a return without contacting your customer service.

Pre-printed address card

  • Provide your shipment receiver with a pre-printed address card.

  • A parcel your customer wishes to return can be left at any Matkahuolto service point or locker.

  • The easiest option to return an item.

  • If necessary, you can accept returns at several addresses.

Return code

  • Provide your customers with your company’s return code to make a return at any Matkahuolto service point except for parcel lockers.

  • Returns can be made by all your customers who know the return code.

  • The returns will be routed to a single address agreed with you.

Services to registered customers

  • You can specify the time frame for creating a return shipment. A return code is also available in the service, if provided.

  • The returner will receive an activation code and can leave the shipment at any Matkahuolto outlet.

Pallet freight for large consignments over 35 kg and/or over 230 cm

Benefits

Delivery service for heavy and large consignments to recipients.
Matkahuolto delivery to home address: Delivery directly to the recipient’s address, primarily during the business day following the order; the delivery time will be agreed separately.

The consignment is picked up from the sender and delivered directly to the recipient’s address. Orders placed before 13.00 will generally be picked up by 16.00 on the same day. Orders placed after 13.00 will be picked up on the next business day. In the most remote regions, pick-ups and deliveries are made only on pre-defined days of the week.

The recipient will not be specifically notified of the delivery. The consignment is unloaded in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle by means of a tailgate lifter and a pump trolley, or by the consignee using their unloading device; a crane may also be provided as an extra service.

  • The consignment may not weigh more than 3000 kg.

  • The maximum weight of a single parcel in the consignment is 1200 kg.

  • The total volume of the consignment cannot exceed 9 m3.

  • There is no limit to the maximum number of parcels in a consignment.

  • The consignment is usually delivered to the address indicated on the shipping document within the next business day following the order.

  • As an extra service, the sender can purchase an advance notification by text message or phone call.

  • If the shipment cannot be delivered, it will be taken to the terminal to schedule a new delivery time with the recipient. The sender will be charged an additional fee for new delivery and storage of the consignment.

  • The freight service may not be used for sending live animals, perishable products or other content in contravention of the general conditions of carriage.

Late delivery to our terminals

You can also take outgoing consignments directly to our logistics terminals. Consignments left at our terminals within their opening hours will be delivered the same evening! This means many more useful hours to collect e-commerce orders and deliver parcels quickly to recipients.
